Saturday, December 26 thru January 2010: CLOSING SALE at Nativa's Old Town gallery:
Sadly, Nativa is closing its brick and mortar store. The good news is that our customers can get incredible deals as we liquidate our in-store inventory. Everything is marked down from 20% to 70%!

Saturday, January 2 11 am-6 pm and Sunday, January 3, 11 am-5 pm: Nativa hosts Navajo-Diné artist Gerald Pinto, who will demonstrate his contemporary Navajo-Rakú style pottery technique at Nativa's  Old Town gallery.  Buyers will also be entered in a sweepstakes to win one of Mr. Pinto's unique bisque stained medicine bears.

Nativa's Old Town gallery will be closed on January 1.

Navajo-Dine potter Gerald Pinto is one of Nativa's featured artists. His lines of Elemental, Equinox and Nebula pottery are quickly becoming collectors' items. Combining Japanese and Navajo influences, these pieces are made on a wheel using commerical gypsum clay and a local slip, then fired with cedar and other materials before being finsished with copper wire and Kingman Green Turquoise. The black squiggly lines in the top of the Nebula line of pots come from hair taken from the mane and tail of a horse which is melted into the surface.
