Welcome to Nativa Handcrafts and Gifts, LLC

Owned and operated by Garrett Menning (a.k.a. "Dr. G") and his wife Sophany, NATIVA HANDICRAFTS & GIFTS, LLC is your source for unique folk and ethnographic art, handicrafts, books, furniture and gifts from every corner of the globe. As an anthropologist, Garrett travelled around the world, collecting art and curios from every country he visited. After meeting in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Garrett and Sophany decided to put down roots in Albuquerque, New Mexico, launching Nativa soon afterward. By supporting contemporary artisans in the production of traditional handicrafts, Nativa seeks to keep indigenous artistic traditions alive and promote understanding and appreciation of these traditions among our customers.

NATIVAHANDICRAFTS.COM is designed to be not just an e-commerce site, but also a virtual meeting place for all those who share an interest in folk art, handicrafts, and artistic traditions from around the globe. The site serves as an online showcase for artists and their work and a place where like-minded individuals can come to exchange information and views about international folk art and handicrafts, travel and culture. The current site offers a selection of different products from the much larger assortment for sale in the store in Albuquerque's historic Old Town neighborhood. Visitors will also find FAQ, information on upcoming events, and blogs on international travel, arts and culture on the website. New products and information will be added on a daily and weekly basis, so check back frequently as we expand and--most importantly--contribute your own ideas and information!

If you are in the Old Town neighborhood, visit our brick and mortar store, right across from the High Noon Restaurant:
